What’s the part number for the water pump with the updated impeller or an equivalent aftermarket?
I believe I am in need of a new one and don’t want the old design again

Thanks. I already have the aluminum elbows in there. Good advice about the thread sealer. I am now thinking this may not be my problem. Seems to be an issue with the engine fans

What was happening was with the a/c on the temp would be getting really hot. I would be about halfway maybe a hair over 210 on the highway and on stop & go driving it would raise to about 3/4 of the way getting too close to the red for comfort until I either started going again at a decent speed or shut off the a/c for awhile. I ended up having to pull over one day & noticed only the driver side fan running. The next day the passenger fan was going too, so I ended up playing around with the fan relays & found the one that controls the passenger fan. I replaced it and the fan has been running. My temps are still getting over the halfway marker, but not quite all the way to 3/4. I'm thinking there might be something else as well.
I have the dhp pcm which turns on the fans at 180* and keeps fans running for 2 mins after shutdown, I have the 180* t-stat and I did a coolant flush a couple months ago. I do have the waterpump underdrive pulley which I am thinking may be a factor especially in this 90*+ weather we've been having.

Do your fans actually stay on after you shut off the car? I've never been able to get that feature to work on dhp or hptuners.
Maybe your rad is clogged? I didn't run the stock rad very long after swapping so I don't know what's normal temps. I installed a thicker rad and highest temps I've seen in this heatwave is 190. Dash gauge is usually a little over 1/4, maybe 1/3. Think I paid 40 bucks for the new rad because it had a crack in the plastic that I welded.
I assume you did the lim gasket and got rid of the dexcrap? You should see what the water passages in my heads looked like when I took them off. Gross. I think I have pics in my car thread. Surprised any coolant got through.

personally i say get a water pump and flush the system before pulling the pump( flush the heater core with low pressure while there). i spent about 2 hours flushing my '08 before doing the water pump. PO was running dexcool ( or never changed it)and system was pretty nasty. new water pump, tstat, hoses, then burp the system. now temp gage will go just a wee bit above half-even in metro detroit traffic- but no more.

Yes bandook, my fans do stay on for about a minute or so after I shut off the car with the DHP. I did my intake gaskets somewhere around 90-95k miles. I am currently sitting just shy of 160k. I am still running that dexcrap, however I just flushed the system & put in fresh mixed 50/50 with distilled water. I usually flush the coolant either once a year or once every other year.
My issue actually ended up being the engine fan harness. The passenger side fan had a loose connection so only 1 fan was running. So far after making repairs both fans have been running and the temp has been staying nice & low even with the ac on
