Unhook and pull the battery
Loosen nuts a lot for the Cast iron coil bracket to head
That should do it. Wiggle the cover out, do the work and put it all back.
Thanks
Well, the best way I've found is to take it to a self wash car wash with degreaser and tire shine, and spray engine degreaser all over, let it soak for a few minutes. bring some plastic grocery bags and put those over the fuse box, cruise control module, coil packs, abs module, and any other water sensitive electronic components and spray the ever living crap out of it with the pressurized spray hose.
Then remove the bags, grab the tire shine and a rag, spray it just about everywhere, and smooth it out with a rag, and done! Cleanest looking engine bay around!
i like crc brand degreaser, some times it takes a few cans, it seems t stink less then other brands. might have to touch it to break it free if its thick. self car wash works, beats messing up your own driveway.
as far as tire shine, it looks nice for a week or so, then every last speck of dust sticks to it and makes a mess of it. did it once, never again.
The only problem with using a degreaser is when it's cold it doesn't work. I tried it, water will not stay liquid at -30* F and snow doesn't do sh1t for getting the degreaser off of the engine.
I said pull because I don't know his skill level and didn't want him to hit the battery connections with the coil bracket.
