Hey guys I've really been wanting to get into the drifting scene but there is a whole lot of reasons why I just cant do that. I only have one parking space and absolutely no where else to park a new car, I'd obviously be spending a good chunk of change even if I bought a beater for my first drift car, and I'm trying to go to school right now so I need to be smart with my money. Anyway it has led me to now, I want to try autocross since I feel its something that shares a lot of similarities with drifting, I could learn a lot, and it would be fun. My question to you is what kind of suspension setups are you autox guys running and obviously its going to take a toll on the car but is it really hard on the trans or any other major parts? I have a laundry list of mods but must important is e85 and intercooler so I should have more then enough power to be a contender and as far as suspension I have kyb gr2 on eibach springs, Dorman front sway with poly everything. Gmpp rear sway with poly bushings and moog endlinks. Gmpp strut braces front and rear, moog lcas, stock trailing arms, stock lateral arms. All these parts have less then 5k miles on them as well except for the stock original parts. I currently feel like the car handles fairly well for 3400lbs. I've been setting up cones the past week on backroads and kind of just messing around but the car can swerve in and out of cones that are fairly close together at 50mph no problem. Obviously there's a lot more to it then that but I would love any recommendations for parts I should get or if there is any other advice you could shower on me about just the event and sport itself I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you!!
