There is a crush bent gasket in there. It's not reusable. Did you take it apart? If not, maybe one of the bolts fell out, or the flex is broken. Can you try to pinpoint where the leak is coming from?
i tried pinpointing...it's coming from. around where the CAT meets up with the flex pipe to the manifold...it is freaking loud!

busted stock flex then, you need a new down pipe. if you can weld, or have a shop near by you can either buy a catted dp, or a one with out a cat, then cut your old one out and weld it in the new dp.
For the price of removing it you can get a new down pipe with the cat and replace it yourself. Easy job.
whoever owned it b4 me was a CHEAP, LAZY, DUMBASS!!because whoever owned it before the used car lot got it tried to fix it and just made it worse!!!the clamp that was holding the flex to the CAT was so loose that I never had to touch the nuts with a wrench...I got nthe bolts off with my fingers and no efforttapatalk_jpeg_1489970101124.jpg

Sounds like someone replaced the factory cat and used clamps instead of welding it in. There shouldn't be any clamps connecting the cat to the downpipe.
yeah, its been rigged, time to get it fixed right. you need to take all that bs off, then un bolt the main flange off the rear manifold, then the two cat back flange bolts.
ya I was pretty sure that wasent factory..I work at oreilly auto and see those clamps everyday....so is that exhaust flex factory or did they just go to the store and buy the foot of flex that comes with the clamp? because the stock cat/pipe is supposed to b this right>>>>>$_1.JPG
I just don't know what to do right now cuz I can't afford the Cat and all that stuff at the moment..do u think if I get some exhaust weld, take off the whole cat/pipe,and seal the **** out of the flex...do u think it could be a temporary fix?
I'm not expecting it to b perfect...I just need it to better until I can replace the whole thing..
not a chance it will hold up. if you can weld tho... looks like someone put the real mesh flex in there and rigged it up some how, pic is hard to see clearly whats all done rigged up there.
so what can I do to make it not soo bad besides replacing everything?I just need a temp fix for a week or 2.dosent have to b perfect as long as it's improved more then it is right now... it's just that I'm in a bad financial statement right now until the end of the month.
the messed up thing is that I just found out yesterday that the used car lot that sold me the car sold it to me with it having a failed inspection... that's probably why I haven't gotten my title, license plates and stuff in the mail yet.. isn't that ILLEGAL as hell? I even got the record from the DMV..
see>>>
the car lot that sold it to me where the ones that failed it in the first place!not 2 weeks before I bought it!![]()
new plates can take a week or so, title too. all comes as one time here.
maybe you can get them to fix it. after all, you just bought it, and it wont pass inspection.
see the obd2 part. its got nothing after it, like saying its ready or not, so maybe the power port fuse is bad and that takes out the power to the obd2 port. if they cant scan it, thats a auto fail in most states.
the obd port works fine...I have a code scanner...they inspected it on February 10th and I bought it on the 28th...I called them right after the first issue came up and the person told me that his boss would call me back.never happened, all I got was run around..and the last 2 weeks or so I have been calling both their #'s twice a day and leaving voicemail..the lot is over an hour from where I live so it's not like I can just drive over there real quick.especiall when I work over 40 hours a week..
