Thread: 40th Anniversary Grand Prix Gt

Thinking about purchasing a 2002 40th anniversary Gt, wanted to get a feel for what the car is actually worth in your eyes and if I would actually be happy with a non supercharged version of this car. I am a Pontiac fan, I used to own a 30th anniversary Pontiac Bonneville. I loved my Bonnie and miss it all the time. I have been searching high and low for another, but there are almost NONE for sale near me here in FL. The car I am looking at looks to be in great shape, has been garage kept and the paint and interior look really good. The car has eibach lowering springs (2" drop), MOOG struts (4), GMPP sway bars back & front. Iit has brand new brakes & drilled rotors (4), control arms, ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rods, 4 brand new brake lines & master cylinder, new rear caliper, power steering pump (under warranty), fuel pump, both upper and lower intake gaskets replaced, all brand new brake lines. It has newer headlights ( which leak and need to fixed), LED tails. No engine or tranny mods so that is all stock. It has an exhaust leak, and a few other cosmetic problems such as bulbs being burned out and ABs sensors being bad.. The car has around 136k miles. I am looking at other GtPs for around 2k in my area, but have no idea what is wrong or been fixed on them. They are asking 4k for this car. I am also considering the Buick Regal Gs and the Park Ave Ultras. Very recently some really nice and low mile Ultras have come up, but as far as the Regal Gs is concerned there are none for sale I like. What would you guys do? Thanx in advance for any and all input.

Yea, the premium fuel thing is a positive. I also own a Cadillac that eats premium and I hate filling it with gas for that reason alone. I was thinking that the price was right, but was just a bit concerned that the car had an exhaust leak. However, the 40th has some fugly a$$ interior, but the mods and fixes make me overlook that. I really wish I could find a regal GS because the interior is right up my alley. That is why I am also considering the PA ultra, Do you think that asking more like 3,500 would be reasonable on my part? I also forgot to mention the car comes with 05 stang bullit rims, which I think look so much better than the stock 40th rims.

I'm sure it's going to be hard to bump him off 4 Grand. I agree with the interior being ugly but you can swap seats with another w body, just keep the orig if you ever sell. With that maintenence done too it it seems it was taking car of. Premium pshhhh what is that like an extra 5 bucks to fill up, not a big deal. I'd go for it if I was you.

If you think the interior is ugly just pass on the car and look for one without the anniversary edition, I wouldn't swap anything out for sure as its part of the package. Do what suits you, I like the 40th model,it is something a little different. I sold a GT few months ago that was rusted and had less miles for 1200 needing work. I paid 200 as it had been sitting for 2 years. But it was a northern car. Good luck!
