    2005 GTP.

Shopping for a high flow pump tonight. Different sites give conflicting information. Some say they only or won't work with venturi systems...

    No venturi on your car.

For an m90 build, I'd rather have a venturi.

So basically the venturi style bypasses some of the fuel back into the canister or something, where the returnless style bleeds fuel back into the canister from the regulator?

04 up has one fuel line, 97-03 have two, one is the feed, the other the return.

Scotty, you know I understand that. The regulator is in the canister on 04+, what I am asking is. What is a venturi fuel pump? I have seen fuel pumps with a small line (less than 1/8" diameter) that runs inside the fuel canister that sends fuel back into the canister to keep it from starving when the tank is low (so I have heard). Is this what is I have had referred to as a venturi pump. Is that the only difference or am I thinking of something completely different.

Return or return less has nothing to do with it.

You are correct Jeff. That little hose is the venturi. It keeps the in tank canister full when the tank is not.

It's great for making runs at the track with not much fuel in the tank. 97-00 cars with the metal tanks had them. 2000-03 cars with the plastic tank did not have them.

04+ did not get a venturi.

Thanks for the clarification I have seen pumps without and with the little line and most of the time I just replace stock for stock, but this being my first returnless system car that I am going to modify I wanted to be sure when I go to pick out a pump.

did some of the 2000+ cars have a venturi? I was thinking about ordering a pump as well, but when I was reading on wbodystore's website it said some 2001's had the metal tank with a venturi, I just havent had time to get under the car and see if it was metal or plastic.

Im pretty sure they switched sometime in 2000. But, easy way to check....

    Plastic tank = non venturi
    Metal tank = venturi

Wbs used to have it backwards on their site. Not sure if they fixed it ever.

Since we're all here, do we have a check valve in the tank at the pump? Not maintaining pressure at the rail after a few hours of shut off. Injectors NOT leaking.

I don't know what it is, but there should be something in the pump that holds pressure. So, if it's leaking off, a new pump will usually cure that.

Was figuring that, wasn't sure if it was part of the factory pump or another separate piece or all pumps have it etc.

Are you maintaining 65 psi at all other times, it's just leaking down within a couple of hours?

Haven't been able to measure it yet. It seem the fuel pump is definitely weak, or the filter is clogged. It won't start on the first or 2nd try anymore even when it's warm out. Totally different feeling than the weak cold start of E85.

Crank, crank, crank, fires once, stall.
Crank, crank, fire 2-3 times, stall.
Crank, fire 1-2, starts, idles, put in gear and touch gas, stall.
    Cra- starts, drives.
