At what pulley size is a belt wrap needed to prevent belt slip?
Depends on a few things, but usually it's in the sub 2.8 range.
What are those few things? Im gonna be running a 2.8" pulley
you'll know when you start to get into it you'll find the black powdered rubber dust
If you're not 2.6" or lower, I wouldn't really see any point honestly.
I had no belt slip on my 2.8" pulley car. if you have a tuner you should be able to see changes in boost if the belt is slipping or fluctuations in map and air flow where there shouldn't be any fluctuation.
Yeah what ill probably do is just get ZZPs oversized tensioner pulley
the G/H body bracket is a good increase in belt wrap, but both it and the iron W body bracket can be imprived by using the 3.5" pulley on the tensioner and using the dodge/mercedes/etc 2.5" dia ribbed pulley....you can gain a couple more degree's of belt wrap.
ron vogel also proved that if you had slip you could roll a triangle file through your polished sc pulley grooves to creat teeth to add traction if you think your starting to slip
At first i was thinking wbody belt wrap than i remembered ZZPs oversized tensioner pulley plus its cheaper
I have this one but I've decided not to use it ... Yet. I'm a 2.8 with the 8 rib conversion. No slip.
maybe ill try it out if I toss the 2.6 on or else I'll just sell it
(Loose test fit for mock up )
That block looks good, you power coated the block red?

Thanks. There is more pics in the link in my signiture.
