First you should let us know what you have as far as car, remote start and any issues the car may already have. Any lights on? Are you getting a security light?
Jeff
Sorry about that, I have a 2006 Grand Prix V6. And Today I notice that the engine light pops up when I try to use the remote start.
When you normally start your car, do you ever have to touch the gas pedal? Or does it start just by touching the key?
And could you describe "never completely starts"? it seems that it either starts or it doesn't... or does it start then die?
Aftermarket remote starter, or factory?
If you're CEL light is on, it won't let it start.
This video should explain it.

factory remote and sometimes I do have to touch the gas pedal to start the car. and what I mean is you can hear it start to turn but then give up.
Mine does this when I turn the key but if I turn the car to on and wait to hear for the fuel pump to prime I can just hit the key once and it starts

thanks!
What is the code you are getting? Find the code. If it's P0053/P0054, this is the Technical Service Bulletin. http://ww2.justanswer.com/uploads/he...0053_P0054.pdf
Also since you have a 2006 GP, I suggest you look at this in case you have any other issues, http://www.pontiacproblems.com/tsbs/Grand_Prix/2006/. My 06 hasn't given me crap for issues except for the P0053 code which was taken care of. I love my car lol.
Edit: the website I listed, Pontiacproblems.com, shows what has happened to some owners and some is for the GXP V8 model. The issues listed on that site do not reflect on every single 06 GP so don't get discouraged or in other words, it doesn't mean it's going to happen to you.
