This has been a minor ongoing issue from the beginning that really should be addressed. There seems to be a lot of posts in the 4T60E section though the majority of the 97+ cars have a 4T65E and many owner may not know this or just accidently post in the wrong section. Also it would help for the original poster to lable the specific vehicle model and year in the post just in case things are in the wrong section so we know what exactly to help out with to provide the correct info for your trans.

I agree. I think it would be good to have a section as you mentioned and for the vehicle information to be given.

What would be easier for you:

    1. Require it (the vehicle information) to be included with any diagnostic help requested or..
    2. Require everyone put their vehicle information in their signatures

I belong to one forum where its pretty much a requirement to have your vehicle information in your signature and it goes a long way in helping out for everyone. Ive thought about it here before but didnt post about it. But with the number of posts Ive had to move today and the number of posts that are showing up in the wrong section Im thinking it might be good to have this information in the signature to help out in such situations.

I think it would be best to put the vehicle info in question in the thread itself as some people are not asking questions about the car in their sig, or may have bought a different vehicle that no longer matches. It is no different than requesting info in the classifieds for location of cars or items and that way everyone knows what you have and doesnt have to ask

Check those out Trannyman and see if they are correct, and if that helps. Also what is the trans used for the GXP?

Let me know if this will work or if you have a better way, and I will get it changed.

Looks good Chris and I think that will greatly help out so things go in the correct section. 97 GTs had the 4T60E and some of the other car lines used the 4T60E, such as the Buick Century, up until the 99-00 year range but that is not a concern and can be clarified when posting
