I was thinking we could make an "Other Vehicle" section for our other cars or those of us who don't own Grand Prixs anymore but who still enjoy helping others with GPs.

I guess I overlooked this post, sorry gmboy. If I dont forget, I'll send a message to Chris who has been working on the forum structure and see if its something we can add.
I like the idea, but the problem is I dont think it would be exclusively by previous GP owners, and with the search engines sending bots out looking for key words in posts, it would only be a matter of time for the Honda's and Toyota's get here and start posting hate discontent, and I dont think we want to open that door just yet. There is no real way to screen every person and make sure they either own or have owned a GP, and for the most part it really does not matter as long as your not bashing the WBody, or the people in it.
With that said this is a forum for both W Body cars and other 3800 powered cars, so that is the focus, feel free to post up in the Lounge area if you have a question about another model.

Yeah, I didnt even think about opening it up to everything...good point Chris.
I have to disagree with webracin. My GP has now become a garage/race queen. And my daily driver is not my GP. If there is knoledge about cars, doesnt matter the make, then I will take the advice on what to check/replace/fix from anyone that has some valid information. I know alot about alot of diferent cars, and I try to share it with everyone that needs the help (hence why I am a moderator on 4 other clubs). I am not going to be prejudice over one particular style of a car. If the "ricers" want to come trolling their were thru, I am sure the mods know where the "delete this account", and "delete this post" button is.
Its no wonder they are "player hatin" us (to use the vernacular slang). We call'em names, we laugh at them when they wanna race, etc. If the "ricer" wants in, and can behave himself, to contribute to the society in which we, as a group, are building, then we as a group, cant hold him back without us looking worse in the process.
I use the term "ricer" cause thats what everyone calls them, including me. And altho i contradict myself in the above, they have yet to prove to me that they have earned my respect as a person/car enthusiast, to be called anything else.

Hey Brian,
I have to agree with you in part. I too use the term "Ricer" because that is the general term used by everyone. Before I started my GP club here in Arkansas, I was a member of NWA Imports, since that was the only club in this area. While most were great people, you still had a few bad apples that like doing burnouts in the parking lot where we gathered EVERY weekend, well word got out and the police chased us off, and the club was disbanded. Not cool drawing attention to yourself when your going to be at the same place every weekend, but hey we were all young at one time and full of piss and vinegar.
Back to the forum, we may at some point open up more forums, but as of right now, we are wanting to get the W Body and 3800 forums off the ground and once its up and going and all the bugs are worked out, I dont see a problem with putting up a "Other Vehicles" section. Right now my focus is to get everything in place to support the 3800's, so I dont have alot of extra time to go thru post at the moment. Give us a chance to get the board where we want it, and then we can look at letting the others in.

You do bring up a good point about the search bots and bringing in people who have nothing to contribute. It's a two way street really, it works out positive and negative. There are some other car owners who are interested in other cars like me. I'm a member on a number of other forums because I like learning about their cars. But on the flipside there are idiots who will do nothing but bash our community. We're still building this place and trying to get the traffic over here. I'm sure if one of us had a question about an other cars that the general section would do pretty well for that person. Perhaps later once this place becomes high volume and the general gets flooded with all kinds of stuff we can put the other cars section in so that it clears up the general. I just thought I'd bring that idea up eventhough it's a bit early lol.
That sounds like a plan to me.....revisit once we are established.
