A fourm that i used to visit frequently had a warning points system. you would get issued points for language, spamming, etc.,etc.Then, after you got 100% or 25 points (i cant remember which it was), you were banned. I, personally, wouldn't mind seeing that implemented here. it would help control some of the idiots. Just a thought.

That actually is being used here. The Moderators and Admins can issue a "point" for breaking the rules. The "Point" will stay on your profile for 12 months and then drop off. If withing 12 months you get the following number of points, this is what happens:

1st violation (Point) will be a PM Warning from a Staff Member and noted in your private profile (only seen by admins and moderators).
2nd violation (Point) will be a PM Warning from a Staff Member and noted in your private profile.
3rd violation (Point) will be a ban from the site for 1 week and noted in your private profile.
4th violation (Point) will be a ban from the site for 1 month and noted in your private profile.
5th violation (Point) will be a permanent ban from the site and noted in your private profile.

The software keeps track of the "Points" and will automatically ban members for the perscribed time, so that kind of takes the not equal treatment across the board deal out. Also there are 6 Admins/Moderators from all over the country, so the odds of someone being good friends with all 6 is slim to none.

Thats what we wanted. Plenty of warnings and plenty of chances. The idea being that if you get 5 points in a 12 month period then you probably arent interested adhering to the rules or being a positive member of this community.
