Car has 278,000 miles and was parked after two lifters collapsed and started slapping around rather than just ticking.
I don't have the time or the place to try to put a junkyard motor in it, and it kills me to send it off to the crusher for $250.00
I loved this car, had it since 80K. The trans was flushed every 20K and shifts perfectly even at the miles that are on it.
Everything that spins on the outside of the motor has been replaced with Durolast parts. The timing chain and gears were replaced.
The wheel bearings were all done since 220K, the rear tires are new , just have a trip to Charlotte and back on them.
It was on the way back from Charlotte right before it got off I-95 that the lifters collapsed, so its been about 20 miles driven with them slapping.
The only other issue is the backlights for the radio have died.
I have the replacements I got from corvette radio dot com or something like that, but I have not changed them, they are included.
Body is in good shape but the hood has a couple paint chip areas.
If anybody here wants this to use for parts, or to put a motor in it and get it on the road again just let me know. All I ask is what the crusher guys would give me, $250.00
Wish I could fix it and keep it going, really love driving this car, but I have too many other old vehicles clogging up the driveway.
