I am in the process of doing a 04+ Mini H1 retro at the moment. I can let you know when the prototype is complete and ready for production.

Has anyone got the retrofits with demon eye mod from Classy Pontiac? If so, I'm curious if you needed to wire a resistor for the demon eyes or if it even needed one.
Maybe it'll work with 12v but I don't want to be wrong and need to replace them.

    Thanks

Has anyone who put retrofits in an 04+ had to drill/modify the brace behind the low beam light? I was going to put mine in tonight but the back of the projector hits the brace. Even without the bulb in. Looks like I need to drill a hole in the brace, just hoping theres enough room behind it.

Thought so, looks like I didn't do enough research. Do you know what size hole? That shouldn't affect anything by drilling the hole right? Where and how did you mount your ballast?

Doesn't matter, trial n error. Start small n go big. At least a 3-4 inch hole. Or use a dremel n cut a square. My ballasts are just hanging rn lol. But I'm going to mount them on the metal bumper bracket most likely. Or wherever you can.

Something like this but a lot smaller n centered. These are cut for fxr which are a lot bigger n not necessary for you.

Thanks for the info. One of the clips on the bulb is broken so I don't want to risk hanging them. There is a brace underneath I was considering. Looks like a lot of moisture in there but the morimoto 3five ballasts are supposed to be potted so I should be ok.

I also see you needed to cut the metal. Do you think I'll need to? Using the H1 projectors? I know it'll def be tight but if I can avoid having to cut that metal, I prefer.

No you won't at all, and your hole can be a lot smaller. I used the fxr which is a much bigger projector and the d2 ballasts which go further back. You won't need to do any of that

To be honest, when I first realized it would need to be cut I had doubts. But the more I thought about it, I'm ok with it. Once I seen how the lights look and the improvement.

Its not something that would take away value from the car hell no one would know. plus youre stock headlights will still fit just as they were before. The hole is strictly for the back of the bulb harness to fit properly.
