Recently i flipped the motor mounts so it stops play when accelerating but i think i caused a problem. From doing so i think i caused the bottom motor mounts to fail because there working harding not too move now that the front ones are flipped. When i accelerate, brake and shift from park to reverse it makes a clunk noise. Any ideas? 1999 pontiac grand prix GTP

Doubtful that it caused your lower mounts to go out. Chances are they were already worn down and needing to be replaced. Pop the wheel off and check them out and replace if needed.

pop the hood fire up the car, then shift it from P to R to D then back to R, watch the engine, if its moving more then say 2 inches when it catches D or R, the lower mounts are shot.

You'd want to pull the passenger tire and look at that mount, it's probably destroyed. Also flipping the uppers wouldn't cause the lowers to go bad, the lower hydraulic mounts just don't last long.
