I just recently brought the GTP to a local dealer to have a recall done for the engine compartment fire. It hasn't caught on fire in the past in 11 years, so it's not going to catch fire later on, but it was free work so I had it done. Once the work was done the mechanic told me my ignition coils were bad, 2 out of the 3 were corroded and would lead to misfires. But for parts and labor he wanted $400, so I told him I'd do it. I called another mechanic that I've brought my van and Expo to before and he wanted around $500 for the coils and both belts replaced, s/c and serpentine. Question I have is how much are ignition coils (I need 2, but I'll just replace all 3) and how much are belts? I have a buddy that says he can do the belts, but he hasn't done coils. Are they easy to do? Tips? Thanks

    Super easy to replace.

But honestly, just clean them up, put some di electric grease on them and call it good for now.

I need to get into the mechanic business. I would do that job for free, but if someone's willing to pay out $400-500 I won't turn it down.

Coils are about $25 each. It requires a 5.5mm socket to remove them (say $5) and they are super easy. But like mentioned...you could clean the towers up with some steel wool and be all set.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
