so when modding an engine/ exhaust system, what's the best bang for your buck? Like what do you get the most horse power for the cheapest amount?

$220 shipped, and they are good headers. They wont really grab you any higher top end if you have a stock PCM due to the Top Speed Limiter.

They do replace all the restrictive parts of your exhaust, and flow WAY better then stock.
You'll probably grab 15hp or so, and more with mods. You will notice a change in the sound of the exhaust, and have a stronger top end.

Headers are a PITA to install tho...

I'm guessing I'd have to take it to a shop for that, how much does that cost?

haha nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. What's the most you can go with the limiter off before your engine kicks? Just for future reference... Not that I intend on breaking any laws or anything like that... BTW sorry for all the nubby questions XD And thanks for humoring me.

Depends kinda, I've seen GTP's run 125 before the limiter, but mine personally could only hit 111mph.

You could get a shelf tuned one, which isnt a bad starting point, or save up, and get your mods done first, then get it tuned to your car(either an Overkill PCM, or a dyno tune)

so yours hit 111 and the stock pcm is 107 right? and I think I'm gonna get the mods first then the pcm tuned out of it.

Stock PCM Im not entirely sure. When my PCM was stock, I hit 111mph, Shane's GTP will hit 125mph with a stock PCM.

I actually hit 155 yesterday. And I have a clip to prove it......whenever Alex gets done with it.

DAMN the speedometer on my gt only goes to 115. I was told for the gt the stock limiter was 107, but the speedometer showed the other night at least at 110 so idk hahaha

Gotcha, my old GT would do 114MPH before the limiter kicked in.

omg finally, someone who doesn't think I'm going crazy. I said I went around 115 in the "kill" thread and like 4 guys hopped on me saying it was impossible.

lol I'm gonna sound like such a noob... but I dunno what that means . And yeah I was like flooring it for waaayy to long before it reached that high, how can you tell when the limiter kicks? does it just max out or is there a physical response?

    surprised nobody's done this yet.

    this one helps a lot.

    http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/s...car-17482.html

    edit:
top swap means taking the top end of the motor (heads, supercharger, intake, manifolds, and some other stuff, here's a link:http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...=382&catid=109 ) from the supercharged gtp motor and installing in on your motor. it's somewhat advantageous over a motor swap because you can make higher compression with the L36 block in the gt's than the L67 block in the gtp's do from the factory. and there is a physical response when you hit the limiter, i believe the motor cuts fuel so your car will nose dive, rpm's will plummet, and you won't be able to go any faster till you drop back down to 105ish.
