I will discuss the various Mothers products that I have used.
California Gold Synthetic Wax -
This is one of the easiest waxes to apply and remove. It is a sealant. I have seen 3-4 months of durability with it. It has some mild cleaners in it so it can remove very light defects. It will darken paints. It is noticeable on black and red. For those that want to save a little more money, Autozone sells the exact same thing in the M Tech line.
California Gold Micro-Polishing Glaze -
This is Mothers version of a glaze. It's purpose is to fill in defects such as swirls and scratches. It does a good job of it. For those that do things by hand this would be a product to have. Those who do it by machine, I would recommend the pro polish or compound. If using the synthetic wax, it will remove some of the glazing properties due to the cleaning agent in the synthetic wax.
California Gold Natural Formula Pure Carnauba Wax -
This is a very nice wax. For those that like the look of a carnauba then this one is for you. It won't last as long as the synthetic wax but it will give the paint some depth. Looks great on those garage queens. Easy to apply and remove. For those that like to top products, this would work well after first applying California Gold Synthetic Wax. Allow about 12 hours prior to topping the synthetic wax. Topping in theory gives the longevity of a sealant with the look of a carnauba.
California Gold Spray Wax -
Great spray wax. Use in between washes to maintain the wax of your choice. A little goes a long way. Works very well as a drying aid. For those that want to save a few bucks, pick up the M Tech spray wax at Autozone. It is the same product.
California Gold Showtime Instant Detailer -
Use this to remove light dusts and finger prints. It has a great smell. It can be used as clay lubricant. I believe it has been renamed to Instant Detailer. Showtime has a cinnamon scent to it and it smells great. The same product is available in the M Tech line at Autozone.
Reflections Advanced Spray Wax -
Another great spray wax. This one is thicker than California Gold Spray Wax. It sprays thick and can be a little trickier to use. I used it with a microfiber towel and varied the amount of spritzes per panel size. A foam applicator also works well. Gives a great shine. I personally liked the look of this one better.
