Not trying to get in the middle here, but I do know they are stock with 3.29's. Are they not the 4T65EHD?

I'd need to see the RPO code list on the back of them. According to GM's SI manual they didn't. But, with the RPO code off the SPID label I can look up their specific tranny code. If someone would care to provide me with one I will post up the info here.

To be honest I've never looked at 04+ Grand Prix info.

I'm pretty sure only the CompG GTP's have 3.29's, but those will have a different RPO code because of TAP Shift.

I was recently given this info. (Thanks to BBEngineer)

The regulat 2004+ GTP has a 2.93 Overall FDR with an FR9 HD 3.29 FDR

    Another note:
FR9 is 3.29 final drive ratio, but that is not overall final drive ratio. The overall final drive ratio uses the sprocket ratio as well.. that's why most HD's are 2.93 (33:37)

I am new to the site and I have a 2005 9C1 and it does have all the heavy duty cooling for the oil, trans., and steering. I will look into seeing what codes there are for the trans.
    Thanks

I have the 2005 Impala 9C1 and upon checking the RPO codes, it has the M15 transmission. No MN7 trans. here!

And it does for sure have all the coolers for trans., steering, and oil.

heres a question, i know when they sell police cars they have to "disable" certain things. one of those things is the switch used to disable the brake lights. i was wondering if anyone knew if they put the speed limiter back on when they go to sell them?

Disabling the surv mode is easy, since all they do is either unplug the switch or cut the wires to the switch. The limiter is harder since that requires a reflash of the PCM. I'm not aware of how high the 9C1 goes, but I'd imagine it's the same after its police duty is over.

the COMP G's 04+ are 3.29. If it's not a COMP G but still a GTP (like mine) then its 2.93. I would know... I learned this the hard way.

I bought a 9C1 and the trans is the same as the GP GT, only differ in it was alu-sub frame, P/S Cooler, Surv mode, stocks, and brakes and the PCM
Everything got swapped into my 98 GP GT
