2000 Imp. 3.4L. I'm trying to help a lady make her car safe. She's abused it and neglected it for past few years. She has an ambiguous and ever-changing story about a small front-end accident a few years ago--she got the body fixed, but nothing else, including broken front sway bar and broken right headlamp cover (bulbs are good). Anyway, according to her, ever since the accident; the horn stopped working, high beams work/flicker incrementally, and the corners don't blink--ie the corner (amber) turn signal lights come on but do not flash, and same for hazards-lights come on but do not flash. No issues with headlight low beam. I found a few wiring diagrams for it, but I do not know where grounds, etc. are located. I replaced horn fuse and horn is good again. So what's up with lights? Fault in circuit, right? Maybe bad head lamp assembly (ie the light sockets are built into housing)? Wiring diagram showed a "timer" for blinkers, but don't know how to test that. I put my voltmeter to blinkers and get a steady 11.8ish volts, but shouldn't the voltmeter read the current blinking? So, we greatly appreciate any help, where is turn sig "timer", where is ground for headlights? any experience with similar issues with these cars. Thanks!

On the Regal/GP's the ground is typically by the driverside headlight. Not 100% on the Gimp..although it should be in the same place. Sounds like you need to pull the headlights and check over the wiring in the front end. Also.. does the blinker appear to be blinking on the instrument panel?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Thanks Bill. The blinking is incremental, rare, and short-lived when it does works. When the signals work properly, the lights on I/P also work properly, if no indicator lights on I/P, then the signals are not flashing. From the wiring diagrams I have, I could tell turn signals and hazards are somehow connected, so I did another google search for Imp hazards, and got many hits saying, turn signals and hazards are connected and that a failing hazard switch will cause corners to stay lit/not flash off-on. So I'm going to try junk yard tomorrow. Will report progress.

Alright Stealthee, where would the blinker module be? How to test? Wiring diagram shows a "timer", is that the same as blinker module? Also, can anyone confirm, 1) that the voltmeter should show current rise and drop with blinking? & 2) the signals are supposed to flash off when the proper power is achieved, so if there is insufficient power the light will not blink (which is why when you have a burnt out bulb the blinkers blink faster, b/c remaining lights get more power more quickly), correct? Thanks again.

Went to junkyard, couldn't find a hazard switch but did get her a real clean sway bar for $25, put that on next weekend. So I took hazard switch out, fiddled with wires & reinstalled, seems to have "fixed" it , for now.... New switch is about $50, seems to be a fairly common glitch in their design.
