I showed you the strut towers and went off of what the previous owner told me on mileage. I trusted her since I went to high school with her.

What happened was he said the strut towers were good and I checked the passenger side and it was. The drivers side is rusted thru the wheel well and I did not check there. Should have.
Let's end this here. My fault for not being thorough and taking someone's word. I'm unhappy and rightfully so but I brought it on myself.
Ad states 160k.
I'm told the odometer is dim when in fact it doesn't work at all. He also fails to mention that 2 of the tires are leaking air. He knows I'm driving 2 hours with the intention of buying a car and even though I specifically ask about the odometer, I'm under the impression I'm making the drive to buy a 160k mile car.
Should I have turned him down and drove home empty handed? Absolutely.
Was it a shady deal that could have been avoided by a little honesty from the seller? I definitely think so.
Now I'm done.
if he got the car with a blacked out cluster, he had no real idea the miles, all you can do is trust the last owner, or the title and add miles per year.
like i said same thing happened to me. almost the same miles were expected and then the same miles found to be what they were. in the end its a 3800. it will run longer then most.
the slow leaks. damn good chance its the wheels, not the tires. common regal issue. the chrome peels off and air leaks out from the under side of the wheel. all of mine leaked. why i have sts wheels on my car.
Or for free with the link in the free title check thread. Or this link just replace the vin in the URL with the one you are looking for http://www.chilsonwilcox.com/autoche...EK13Z03J237531
car fax wont help you know the miles if the last owners lied when they did the title. what they all did with my car. how else could it have went from 160,000 to 212,000 in one year of ownership. ( in my case) im the 9 th owner. so 8 times the owner quit giving a crap. lol
Your right, lets end this. Your at fault, stop trying to make smuts look bad when you were in the wrong. I will lock this if I have to.
wait a minute your b1tching about a regal with a decent body that runs for less than 2k?!
umm yeah please next time visit the nearest hyundai dealership for that apparently coveted 100k mile warranty you were obviously expecting..........LOL
Yeah, but now I've heard the whole story I don't think it matters. The ad he purchased from seemed to confidently state that the car only had 160k. And he said the odo was only dim, as in you could still see the mileage. I mean, he shouldn't have bought the car with all the misinformation... But the sales pitch was very misleading. If I had any doubts about mileage on a car I was selling, I would be dang sure to make it clear. 160-210k isn't going to make a big difference in the sales price on that car. I think its good for 1400 bucks even with 250k, so I don't know why you wouldn't disclose that info.
Personally I wouldn't buy a car from the seller knowing what I know now. He may be a great guy, but doesn't seem trustworthy to disclose the most important details in a car sale. And again I'll reiterate, Ultra440 should have walked away. And learn to look a car over better for known issues. Who doesn't know about the strut tower rust issues in these cars? Sheesh.
Dafuk^^^^^^ end of 1st paragraph you say its a good deal even with 250k the 2nd paragraph you say dsmuts a shady dealer?
Umm are you drunk high bi polar or all 3?
That's not what he's saying at all. He saying good deal or not, this is information that should have been disclosed. I'm not saying I agree, that's just what I got from his post.
Getting a buzz going...far from drunk.
Since you are so full of insight, or your just swingin on someone's nutz...explain how:
1. You advertise a car for sale and clearly say it only has 160k when the friggin odo doesn't even work.
2. You claim the odo was only dim, as in he could still make out the mileage when the damn thing obviously didn't even work because it had 210k.
If you weren't so blind by someone's taint in your face you could see both sides.
maybe if the buyer had half a brain and thought hmm gauge cluster doesnt work that should have made him stop and think hmm car might have eleventybillion miles on it.
buyer gets zero remorse from me lol!!
basically if i told you to jump off a bridge would you? rule number one in buying a USED car trust nothing as fact or actual.
anyone think he would have got a better deal for less than 2k from a dealer please let me know so i can point and laugh my as$ off at you.....
Its a $1600 Jalopy...things are going to be used/broken/a little TLC
YAY! ^^^^^^^^ someone gets it!
