Be sure to check the part numbers on all items purchased from the W body store.
A Eibach front spring broke on my car recently. The springs were installed about five years ago and have about 30000 miles on them.
The springs were for a 1999 Grand Prix GTP, ordered from the w body store.
When I contacted Eibach to have the springs replaced, I was informed that I had springs for a 2000-2005 Impala.
They did not have to replace them because the improper springs were on my car. Once I explained what had occurred when I purchased the springs, they very graciously replaced them.
When I ordered the suspension, I ordered components were for a 1999 Grand Prix GTP.
Mike sent me springs for a 2000-2005 Impala.
1. Part number #3885.140 for a 2000-2005 Impala
A. Front springs, linear spring rate 178 lbs.
B. Rear springs, linear spring rate 143 lbs.
2. Part number #3865.140 for a Grand Prix
A. Front springs, progressive spring rate 154-200 lbs.
B. Rear springs, progressive spring rate 109-166 lbs.
In speaking with Mike at the w body store, he told me the springs are interchangeable and it does not matter what springs were on the car. This is not what the technicians at Eibach say.
Basically, what I got from Mike is he ships out whatever he has in stock to fill an order, not what was specifically ordered.
I won't even get into the fuel pump that I was sent from the w body store in this posting.
Buyers beware.
