Thread: GMPP sway bar question

hope this has not already been asked.

anyhow i want too get a set of sway bars for my car, i hear the GMPP sway bars are really liked, do the GMPP sway bars fit my car? 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix Base....

i am also looking for some slightly stiffer springs i don't want too lower my ride height more than 1 inch... if that isn't a option i will be happy with a stiffer set of sway bars beacuse i hear from many those make a big difference.

as far as brakes what do you guys think of Raybestos? i want too get some GXP brake calipers a nice tough set of pads, and some cross drilled slotted rotors.

Everything suspension related is interchangeable from 97-on so yes they will fit. However you'll need control arms from the 97-03 to make it happen. Because the sway bar end links are connected that way.


For Gxp rotors and pads I run duralst c max pads from Autozone. Great great pads last a long time there quiet stop great and don't have a lot of dust buildup. I hear not so good things about ray estos on Gxp cars.

thanks for the tips... swapping control arms shouldn't be that hard, it would be a good excuse too get the more high performance bushings so on and so forth the biggest thing is that would drive the price up... i wonder why they changed the way the stabilizer bars are mounted too the control arms?

Incorrect. 06-08 went back to the old style. Get a Dorman front bar, moog end links, and a gmpp rear. You will then be a happy camper. After that STBs and trailing arms will get you turning nicely.

If you're going to correct something make sure you comprehend. And also if you're going to me tion wheel sizes 17's work with Gxp brakes as well depending on offset and spoke clearance.

awesome, thanks for the tip, even if so i have a 1998 Buick Regal i can take the lower control arms off for myself and put the stabilzer bar on! i knew i would have too get at least the GXP 17 inch wheels too fit the brakes beacuse of the larger caliper and extra 1 inch diameter brake rotors...

so Dorman makes a stiffer stabilizer bar than factory or do they have a more performance oreanted bar?

I was a little off with the wheels, but 18s would just be easier. But I'm right about the control arms and sway bar. The Dorman is 33mm I think and solid as compared to a hollow bar that's smaller
