    What, if anything, is different between a rear caliper with M10-1.5 inlet threads compared to one with M10-1.0 threads, obviously, other than the threads? My car ('04 GTP Comp G) had a M10-1.5 caliper on it, and I ordered one and painted it before I figured out it was tapped for M10-1.0 threads? Visually, they look the same other than the inlet hole. I'm hoping I can fix my F-up with buying a new bolt instead of a whole other caliper. PLEASE HELP, car is apart and having to borrow wife's car

    The thread pitch is the key here. A 1.0 is not going to thread into a 1.5 hole. Look close at the two next to each other at the threads. the 1.5 will be much further spread apart than the 1.0

    I understand about thread pitch. I am a machinist and work with threads everyday. This morning I ordered a M10-1.0 bolt the same length as the M10-1.5 bolt I have. What I need to know is will this caliper function the same as what I took off, after I use the correct bolt to thread into the caliper. I didn't know if GM, in their infinate wisdom, made something else queer about the caliper when they changed the thread pitch.

    Ahhhh think I misread a little.

    I'd be double checking the caliper, that's odd that it has a different pitch. For your actual question, I'd know the same amount as you. If everything seems to line up properly, then I'd assume yes and give it a try.

    It bolted onto the car just fine......I had it on the car before I even figured out there was a problem. I went to a local parts store yesterday that had both versions on the shelf and looked them over and I couldn't see anything different. But just because I couldn't see anything didn't mean they didn't change anything inside. At this point I'm going to try it because I can't take it back because I already painted it (after I took ALL of them off to paint them so they match) so I don't have much to lose at this point. Everywhere I looked, fine thread calipers are more expensive than coarse thread ones by $10-$20 for some reason.
