I am doing a brake upgrade to the front of my 99 GTP. I have new rotors and pads and a nice set of used calipers and brackets. Which hoses do I need? I assume that at some point even the front brake lines changed to metric. I have a mastercool flaring kit so if I need to change the ends on the stock lines no problem. I also have the banjo bolts for the dual piston calipers. I searched GXP brakes in this section and got 0 results. Go figure?

Hopefully you have 17" rims on there to clear the GXP brakes. But yea, read away.

Yes, I have Comp G wheels, and I test fit them tonight. They have plenty of clearance. I looked at the brake thread i guess I missed it.

So basically, the answer is buy stainless lines. So I have this kitUniversal Hydraulic Flaring Kit NOT FOR STAINLESS to do the lines if need be. I ordered new stock lines for now. They were less than $50. Something else I noticed is that the rear LH check valve before the caliper is weeping. Do people delete those or should I go to pull and pay and get a new one?

All you need is Zzp braided hoses there all the same patterns just bolt on and go

Edit and FYI when I did the swap on my GTP I used a piece of4-5 inch brake line that threaded into the portion against the wheel wheel an made a u shape that way you have all the length you could ever need. If you need pics I'll try to dig some up. Its universal brake line they have in the back just bring your brake hose with you to get that thread pitch

I don't mind buying the brake hoses. I will look at rock auto for the specs on the inlet line size and compare them to stock. Good idea about the piece of line though.

I had to use the GXP oem lines on my 2004 when I swapped. I had ZZP lines from many years ago and the fronts were not long enough, since the banjo fitting location is lower on GXP caliper.

To clarify I'm reffering to Zzp extended lines on their website

So....I came home from work tonight and did the GXP brake conversion including changing one of my hub assemblies in about a hour and fifteen minutes. Very easy conversion and I used a new pair of GXP brake hoses to complete the swap. I bent the hose brackets down a little but the hoses bolted up perfectly to the lines and brackets. I used the stock GXP banjo bolt. All I can say is WOW this car stops like 900% better. I just sold a 04 CTS-V and it had incredible brakes now the GTP is at least in the same time zone.newbrakes.jpg
