Thread: Dorman Subframe Bushing any good?

'03 GTP 135K mi. I'm about ready to take on my next repair. I've convinced myself I am cable of dropping the subframe and am going to replace the bushings. I haven't had much luck finding options for parts. gmpartsgiant has them, about $75 each front, and $60 each rear. I also found this: DORMAN Part # 924006, for about $30 at rockauto. However, the Dorman part doesn't seem to match GM part numbers and Dorman does not say if it is for front or rear (it looks like front to me????) Has anyone used the Dorman part? Know for CERTAIN if its front or rear? Recommend using or stay away? Thanks in advance to those in-the-know,w/ experience and that share knowledge and experiences!

Dorman is a VERY good brand, I've had nothing but GREAT luck with them. Iirc, they're a sub-company of Federal-Mogul, who are like the single "best-est" out there. I'd try to stay away from anything grease-able and go for solid rubber or polyurethane for pure longevity. "Ohh, but, see...that's a problem...I don't want the horrid vibration and rumble that poly gives off and rubber's very soft..." Not really the case at all. Solid rubber does give a lot less than hydraulic mounts or OE mounts, but there's no real vibration or rumble. The poly stuff that I have in my RWD L36 does transmit quite a bit of vibration through the chassis and body, but it's not very intrusive at all.

To answer your initial question, though: Dorman is the s*!!!
