I was changing the oil on my sisters 02 Grand Prix and when I had it jacked up I noticed a lot of side to side and up and down slop. Is this the wheel hub bearing. Also her rack and pinion is leaking some is it better to fix it right away or as long as the leak doesn't worsen can it just be ran the way it is and keep an eye on the fluid.

Up and down is wheel bearings.

Side to side is tie rods. More than likely the outers, but if the rack is leakings aswell, you might just wanna replace the whole rack because it comes with new inner tie rods, then just buy 2 outers. Bolt it all back up and get it in a shop for an alingment.

Side to side can also be control arms, balljoint..

    Or loose rack bolts.

there are, use google one will pop up. the one i followed said to remove the master cylinder to reach down to the lines on the rack, i found it easy to get them from under the car. you'll want a 18 mm line wrench to break them free.

i spent about 4 hours dong mine alone.

and one big tip, when you take the steering shaft off the rack make sure the steering wheel is locked. if you spin it around like a silly kid on a coin op ride the clock spring will break, they cost up to 200 for a new one.
