Maybe someone can shed some light. I have a 2003 gpgt and the rear end sags lower than the front. what causes this and what is the way to fix it? i was thinking about putting new struts and springs to lower it in the future.

Thats pretty normal for our cars. You can pick up a set of rear heightening springs. Some use springs from another type of car. Cant think of it right off though what it is. Its right there in my mind just cant get it to surface. SOmeone else will prob post an be able to tell you. If your planning to lower in the future though you might as well not worry about it an just go for the lower dont bother fixing the little bit of sag.
Its normal, springs wear out........
I'd just upgrade to SCC springs and call it a day
if i do lower besides springs and struts, anything else i should change? does anyone recomend any brands? i have heard mixed feelings on the eibachs.
seems like ssc springs are right on the money if your not trying to go suspension crazy.
i want to make it tight, a little lower and even front and back. I use this car for everything so i really like to keep comfort as much as possible. however you cant beat the look of a lowered gp!
Well if you want it lowered, YES go with the SSC Gen II springs, they don't drop your ride a whole lot, the most mine dropped with em was only 1 1/2" all around and gave it a good clean appearance. Now if you want that cushie ride, you are best to stick with a new pair of stock struts or maybe some SensaTracs. I have had both versions of the KYB strut, GR-2s and the AGX's, and I can tell you from personal experience, they are a lot harsher than stock GP struts.
But if you do that route, with lowering that is, keep in mind when you do it there are somethings you want to consider upgrading in the process.
1. New Strut Mounts for all four struts. (You can get a whole set from ZZP for about $100 bucks before shipping (roughly)
2. Anti Pogo washers will be a must if you lower car. They help eliminate, not entirely mind you, the bouncing back and forth in your car when you hit bumps and stuff. They help a lot, and if you dont get them, you will wish you had
3. There are a lot of rubber bushings that go between the springs and the struts that you can replace, but are not entirely necessary. But if you are going to go that far, a little bit more won't hurt and will only add to the overall life of your new strut/spring setup.
If you need numbers on the parts required to complete this job, I will be glad to look them up for ya, I have them earmarked for easy access. Feel free to post here or drop me a PM for them.
Good Luck!
Here is a picture of my old 98GT with the full SSC Gen II lowering springs and KYB GR-2 struts installed.
hey man thanks for the info!!! Question: If i was going to keep stock struts, is there a way to check if mine are still good or should you change with springs automatically?
or if u're lucky to find a set of low mileage comp g struts and springs from the 04+ heres what it looks like on the 97-03 body:
although it sits higher(04+ are slight heavier) its still tight and its a bumpy road on unsmooth roads
ahh yes geddys GT. Those pics made me buy the same suspension setup. The stance is on the money. Geddy, did u need to get shorter dogbones with that setup? any vibration from the car being to low?

Newp. I didnt get anything to reduce the vibration on my GT. The vibration was Sooooooooooooooooooooooo slight when I hit 60mph, I never cared to invest time into fixing it. I never had an alignment problem, though I did purchase chamber bolts for the front and rear of the car. And that helped a lot.
When I got my new GTX, I have the same package as before, except I use the AGX struts now. But my secret to kill the vibration was adding Intense's Poly motor mounts. As I stated in another post, they do add vibration at idle/stoplights/stop signs, but when on the road you never notice it and when I hit 60mph I DO NOT feel that momentary vibration like I felt in my 98GT.
The Polys do their job so well, I never ever considered getting shortened dogbones. Besides using those things leads to other problems with people who have headers or possibly even the PLogs banging into their radiator. I can NOT confirm it would do that, but given the headers I have seen installed and ones I have installed myself, I can seem them, the shortened dogbones, causing a problem or making contact with the fans easily.
Here is a picture or two of the Instense Poly Motor Mounts I installed on my GTX.
