Hi did anybody try the 425-135 dorman shaft. Need won just wanted to see if any good .thanks ron 2001 gtp
i swapped mine with a used one a while back. i can tell you this, its no fun to change.
once you have it off do not spin the steering wheel round and round, the clock spring will break.
i also found it easier to drop the sub frame a few inches to get the shaft back on the rack. the inside part of the column is a pain to get back on as well, due to the boot around it, top and bottom side, and getting the shaft back down the tube is no fun either. spreading the ends of the shaft ends helps some.
dorman usually has good parts, so i would have no problem using it.
hi installed the dorman shaft what a pain. Know the car is really lose steering .could the rack be bad. or is the dorman shaft no good. old shaft was a little loose but had clunk.new shaft is really loose all over road. Thanks Ron.
hi put in 2001 gtp 425-135 intermediate shaft top joint lose .any body else try a dorman shaft.I thing they are making gm shafts too .old shaft just had clunk.aslo new rack.
put back in old shaft grease it real well so far works find. had a bad dorman shaft 425-135 was real loose.
had to get a gm shaft work fine dorman shaft was a pice of junk.had 2 bad dorman shafts.
