    I have an o6 GXP and i changed out the cv half shaft, hub assembly, tie rod ends, and sway bar end links. I also cleaned all the grease that had covered everything from the cv half shaft off of everything. after doing this when i went to take it for a test drive a loud annoying screech started coming from the wheel. I narrowed it down to the breaks and this is what ive discovered.

    any help on this would be greatly appreciated as i cant drive the car until i figure it out. I have new calipers but dont wanna have to pay for them cause their expensive.

    will both pistons not push back in? or did you compress them and then hit the brake pedal and they came out uneven?

    the boots look ok, you just need to fold them back in while compressing.

    theres a brake tool to push the piston back or you can use a C clamp, i use the old pad, you can use a scrap of wood or steel to cross the pistons and push them back in.

    when i pushed the break pedal only one of them came out. I have a tool to push it back in and have done so but it almost looks like one of the pistons have seized up. with the engine running that one piston will come out but will not go back in unless i push it my self and make it go in.

    block the one piston off with a chunk of wood, so it cant come out much, then hit the brake, the other one should come out.

    if it dont its seized up.

    well i already have new calipers so with the condition these old ones are in do you think it would just be better to replace the calipers with the new ones and flush the break fluid with new? I mean the rubber boots have a couple tears on them and their filty and still the original ones that came with the car

    if the other piston will move in and out use it. if not put the new one on.

    by putting on the new caliper, you will be flushing that line when you bleed it. might want to flush the other side as well. or all 4 calipers if you want to.

    the way i do it is the 2 man way so i put my wrench on the bleeder and then a vac hose on the nipple of the bleeder and then into a soda bottle that way theres no mess and you can see when clean fluid comes out of the tube.

    bleeding it really isnt gonna be a bad job. I have a vacuum kit for bleeding break lines. it makes it easy. I have a caliper set for both drivers side and passenger side calipers so i guess ill just put them on
