if you buy the complete strut you dont need to compress it its easy to install

Yeah the ones I got were for my daily driver - same thing as the econo line. They are stiff but the ride is so much better with new struts and I don't have to worry about my car shaking apart now. Yeah definitely always replace in pairs- or even better all four corners if you can afford. The reason my shop let me get my struts off that website is because they basically copy OEM perfectly (according to my guy at the shop). They came with the strut, spring, and top mounts already assembled.
I can tear my struts out and change the springs on both in about an hour......guess I just have too much experience at doing it lol.
Wow, KYBs too stiff? I thought when I put all 4 in that they should have been tighter. But 30K miles later, the KYBs are still working great. No sign of float which got me to change the factory struts at 70K.
For the fronts, I ordered all the individual parts but an older GM front drive car I had broke a rear spring at 80K. So seeing the rear springs are prone to breaking, I got the complete assemblies for the rears. Yes they are easy to install as an assembly but cost $40 more per strut.
Guys, are these struts junk? Monroe Econo-Matic Complete Strut Assembly Part No. 181661
or should I get
Monroe Quick-Strut Complete Strut Assembly
Part No. 171661
Replacing my struts and I figure I better get the quick struts.
I have a complete set of KYB assemblies that I would sell for a good deal. They have less than 500 miles on them. I wanted something more sporty so I got Bilsteins
How much?

Good deal. If deal falls thru. I'm next, but I'd have to meet at the CA/NV border if cool.
Jk.

I put in the cheapo Unity struts from Completestruts.com tonight. They are solid and heavy, just like the OEM struts. They make the car sit high but it doesnt really bother me. I will post some pics and give a ride report next week after I change the CV Axle. They were easy to install and hopefully they last for a few years. They were awfully cheap (@$230 for all 4).
I bought the Comp G spec (OE spec) monroes for the rear and they ride fine after a year. I had KYB on there and when I took them off to put the new comp g springs and struts back on one front and one rear KYB were blown out. No leak but absolutely no rebound in them. The KYBs were on for about 1 1/2 years.

I dont feel the car looks too high. It rides pretty nice.
