Hey all, I got my tax return back and was thinking about doing some maintenance on my 04 GP GT. I have a few issues that have been around for a while, and I was hoping someone here could help me diagnose the issues. The first problem is a grinding sound that is audible both inside and outside the car when I make a very sharp left turn (think 100 percent when making a U-turn or driving around corners in a parking garage at slow speeds). The sound definitely comes from the driver's side. It almost sounds like the wheel rubs on something, but I can't figure out what it would be. It doesn't do it when I make similar turns to the right.

The second issue is a very loud creaking sound when I go over speed bumps coming from the front of the car (I think it's driver side, but difficult to tell).

I'm sitting at 139000 miles, 49000 of which were driven my be. As far as I know, there hasn't been any maintenance or changes done to the suspension. Is there anything I should just up and replace at this point? I found a how-to on replacing the front sway bars, and I'm confident that is something I can do on my own, but is there anything expensive I should be planning for? I've noticed the cornering is getting a little sloppier as she ages, it'd be nice to get some of that back.

Thank you for any help you can offer!

I'm from the TC. Thank you both for the help. I'll make sure I ask my mechanic about those two things when I bring it in for an oil change in the next week or two.

Ideally, if I do need to start replacing these things, I'd like to have the stock suspension that the comp G comes with. I've been reading over the other posts, and it doesn't seem like it would be all that much more expensive than the stock GT setup. Is there anything I should know about going that route? Or is it pretty much just telling my mechanic to order those parts instead?

Depending on where in the TC, I can help you out if its indeed a wheel bearing problem. I know a thing or 2 about replacing them, just thought I throw it out there if you want to save some money on shop costs.

your going to need to go over the whole front end, my lca's were making a lot of noise, and my sway bar was broke, the tie rods were also bad. every last part for the front end can be changed fairly easily and in your drive way with a small amount of regular hand tools.
