Hey all, I got my tax return back and was thinking about doing some maintenance on my 04 GP GT. I have a few issues that have been around for a while, and I was hoping someone here could help me diagnose the issues. The first problem is a grinding sound that is audible both inside and outside the car when I make a very sharp left turn (think 100 percent when making a U-turn or driving around corners in a parking garage at slow speeds). The sound definitely comes from the driver's side. It almost sounds like the wheel rubs on something, but I can't figure out what it would be. It doesn't do it when I make similar turns to the right.
The second issue is a very loud creaking sound when I go over speed bumps coming from the front of the car (I think it's driver side, but difficult to tell).
I'm sitting at 139000 miles, 49000 of which were driven my be. As far as I know, there hasn't been any maintenance or changes done to the suspension. Is there anything I should just up and replace at this point? I found a how-to on replacing the front sway bars, and I'm confident that is something I can do on my own, but is there anything expensive I should be planning for? I've noticed the cornering is getting a little sloppier as she ages, it'd be nice to get some of that back.
Thank you for any help you can offer!
