so i was on zzp and noticed i can replace all my bushigns with poly bushigns including sway bar bushings. i want to do this but just want to know of any pros or cons to doing this or if there is any increased wear on my car?

i am planning on doing the upper engine mounts, dog bones, all sway bar bushings and links, lower engine mount, tranny mount, ann control arms. also planning on doing trailing arms and all latteral arms and adding in some strut tower braces to really improve the suspension. pretty much any poly bushings i can get i am doing.
i have already replaced most of the suspension parts and drivetrain parts like the cv axles ball joints and tie rods...

anyone have any ideas??? pros or cons???

    THANKS!

Your car will shake a lot, but the engine wont move, and put slightly more power on the ground.

on a scale of 1 - 10 what would you consider a lot of shaking? im okay with it really as a drive a 1981 camaro with a big block that shakes a lot. kind of gives it that muscle car feel.... will the poly bushings but any extra wear on any other items in my car???? thanks.

It doesn't shake a lot. You'll notice it, but its not bad.

If you have poly bushings all over the board, then it won't shake too much. And it'll subside over time

On a scale of one to Michael J. Fox, I'd say it would put you somewhere in the realm of a coin-operated massage chair.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

If you are a pretty stock setup, I'd suggest the following

Regular motor and trans mounts, no need for poly
Poly mounts at the front of the radiator support (square ones)
    Regular dogbones

That'll keep your engine vibration reasonable. A lot of guys like Buickman104 and myself etc changed the radiator and dogbones to poly and regretted it. I've driven a couple of cars with the poly lower mounts (engine/trans) and it amplifies the vibration even more. This is a big power mod that isn't needed on a reasonable car.

As for suspension, I'd poly the heck out of everything. You'll love the way it drives after that. Doesn't stress other things, just firms it up and makes it handle.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    Poly everywhere?

    Your dentist will love you.

When it vibrates all of your fillings out.

And your leg goes numb driving on the highway for more than 10 minutes.

Ask my anchor when I drove to Iowa, with no cruise control...aka...my right leg. I used my hip to control the pedal...since I nearly had nerve damage after that trip.

As far as upper engine mounts I flipped the big end and poly small ends. Definitely nicer and firmer without being too harsh, as mentioned before it will subside a little or you get used to it..

Agreed with Bill. My vibration was bad enough that I could hear the window regulator cables rattle around inside.
