has anyone else have this problem i looked on the site really didnt see anythin bout air being in the lines.
the car got dropped off cuz the rack was leaking they replaced it and lined the car back up all tht was good till they said tht they couldnt bleed all the air outta the lines.....

the car is making a loud howling and whinning noise just idling and when u turn it gets worse he said just run it for a few days and the air will come out?? how true is tht??

theres 150 miles on it still the same does it take more driving for it to get all air out.

    its a 05 grand prix

What did they say they replaced???

Usually the howling noise is a bad P/S Pump... After that much driving there should have been some difference, Check the fluid in the P/S Resevoir and make sure it has plenty. If it would bleed itself out the level will get lower and lower and that may result in the pump whinning more. Or there is another problem all together.

Sounds like a shady deal to me... no offense if its a family mech or anything, just seen alot of shady deals in my day and this is bringing back bad memories

check everything you can, if everything seems fine... go back to them and question them on it. If they want repeat business and a good reference they should do something to help.

I don't know for sure, but I do know we sell lots of racks at the dealership I work at (i work in parts) and none ever leave making noise, so the techs have to be able to bleed them out properly or you got a bad rack.

the proper way to bleed the rack and pump is to with the car off jack the front wheels in the air, and turn the wheels lock to lock 15 to 20 times, check fluid level at 15, add if needed, go 5 more times, mine actually burped up fluid with the air and over flowed to the floor.

your pump could be bad too, i had both my pump and rack go out at the same time.
