    I'm trying to remove my outer tie rod from the knuckle and I seem to remember them having crown shaped nuts with a cotter pin through them. this one has a nylon nut, and i cant for the life of me remove it.
    I put a 8mm socket at the end of the stud and used a wrench to turn it as far as it would go, now its stuck and the bottom where the 8mm socket goes is stripped.

    How does 1 uplaod a photo anyway? i converted it to bmp, then i resized it so it was 194kb's then it tells me I've exceeded my quota by 52 kb's
    I had a nice pic to show.

    That is the original factory nut usually they pop right off however in your case that is not so I have attached a link for a tool I have y=used on some pretty nasty nuts even in the junk yard this tol is worth its weight in gold

    that tool would really come in handy,

    but in my case the nut is still good, its the bolt that is turning with the nut. what i stripped is the bottom of the bolt where you would put an 8mm socket to stop the bolt from turning. but at this point theres almost nothing left to put the socket into

    and i dont want to put vice grips above the nut cuz then I'll ruin the threads.

    Torch out get a long bar and push down on the top of the tie rod while some one trys to spin the nut.

    18mm wrench + that looping wrench trick.

    should pop it loose.

    What may happen is the joint spins in the tie rod...

    then its cuttin' time.

    Unless you get it far enough off that you can get vice grips between the top of the knuckle and the top of the tie rod.
