Hello all GXP and Grand Prix owners. I have a 06 Impala SS that I am going to do this brake upgrade for. I know what your asking....."why am i here" its simple i can't find any impala forums that has done this. Before I buy the parts I have a few questions. In the link are CTS-V brake calipers and I only want to confirm that they are the right ones that I will be putting on:

    http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-172-23...liper+assembly
    http://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-172-23...liper+assembly

Also I would really like it if someone can find and post a link for the brake lines needed for the job. I have called around and no seems to knoew what im talking about.

I believe them are for the rears..for the fronts you need these."ACDelco 172-2287 Caliper Assembly"
    "ACDelco 172-2288 Caliper Assembly"
land you might as well add the pins and brackets in there too to hold the brake pads in.

You'd want this and the other two where it says "frequently bought together"

Don't worry, it's not the picture in this one but it is the product, the other caliper shows the picture though.

    I got mine from www.zzperformance.com
    http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...ake-Lines.aspx
Should get LONGER fronts only, unless you want rears for whatever reason.

It's all in this thread, just read thru it and gather numbers..

here's for the sleeves: Part# 6679K16 Desc: Metric Steel-Backed PTFE-Coated Brnz Bearing for 12 mm Shaft Diameter, 15 mm Length Price: $2.45/each Qty: 4 (Grand Prix's have 14mm bolts and CTS-V's use 12mm Bolts)

For banjo bolts, I went to advanced n got em for 10 bucks a piece, the only thing i had to do tho was double up copper washers which probably isn't too good, but I haven't had problems yet. And that's because the threading stopped and it was still loose and the bolt would spin. So I added an extra copper washer on each side to prevent that and tightened em up.

And then for the caliper colts just google cts v caliper bolts or g8 GT work too I believe. N I ordered 4 of them off of some dealer site.

as far as bushings, I didn't run any. I couldn't find em n tried w.o them and no problems...yet lol

You need the cts-v bolts bc they are longer.. also you dont have to run the sleeves like 06gt said but they help keep the new bolts centered which helps the caliper from moving around. If you dont run them make sure your calipers are extremely tight to the knuckles.

Quick question......Did anyone experience any abs light coming on or have any issues with the entire brake system no matter how big or small after the upgrade was finished?

So is the problem from the brakes themselves or from something else? Also is your abs engaging?
