Check this idea out to see if you think it would work in place of the cable mod for holding the rear up for drag racing?

I like the concept, and design. I am not sure if I trust that long of a bolt at high speeds....
^looks stronger and better constructed than the cable mod.
I like it. I personally would not run it, but I like the idea none the less.
Have to watch that all thread though...its pretty weak stuff, one good launch could bend it and if one wheel in the back is in/up and the other one is out and down...could cause some problems.
I say find a better source for some stronger all thread, and replace that regardless, and you have yourself a winner right there. The rest looks very well built IMO.

The idea was it could be left on all the time and easy to adjust at the track and it would work on any w body. Made from parts easily available at a local store. With out drilling or holes so it could be put on and taken off with no sign of use. GR8racingfool I had the same worry but it is 1/2" and I have not been able to bend it yet. the part under stress is less than 12" working on ver 2 now for a simpler design.
Hey John, you gonna be selling these by any chance?
Anyone got pictures of this cable mod I heard of? I can't picture how this works or is installed. I know it'll jack the ass of your car up, but i still don't see how it works. Someone help me?
Cable mod ties the unsprung portion of the strut to the car (while the rear wheels are off the ground) so the weight sits on the cable and not the spring. Since you did this with the wheels off the ground, the back end sits a lot higher.
Yeah, I think I WON'T do the cable mod. i defaintly don't like the looks of it. I have 3 GGTO blockers laying around, now if I could get a 4th i'd be setup. That or I could just reinstall my Olds Intrigue Springs again...
