How do the AGX's on the lowest setting compare to the GR-2's as far as ride quality goes?

Also, many people have stated that the GR-2's will wear out quickly with drop springs. The Eibach springs have a 1.3" drop in the front. If I where to get the GR-2's 1.3" shorter than stock, would I have the same issue?

yes, lowering springs on GR-2s is harder on them. it CAN shorter the life expectancy. You will find on here that SOME people have had lowering springs on GR-2s with no problems, however, there are MANY people that have had the struts go out at 10k, 15k, or 20k miles, usually those with lowering springs. AGXs are, by far, a better strut and you should get them if you plan on lowering. They will last you longer, feel better, and you can adjust their firmness whenever you want.

I plan on getting GR-2s in the future using stock springs. They seem to do fine that way.

eibach springs are not 1.3" drop. i had them on my car and it was closer to 2"+.

GR2s lasted a long time on my car as well, but i didnt care about ride quality as much as others since it was a lowered car and i was expecting it to suck.

Fine Eibach lies. The question still remains:

How do the AGX's on the lowest setting compare to the GR-2's as far as ride quality goes?

If I where to get the GR-2's 2" shorter than stock, would they still wear out prematurely?

You will need someone who has had both. And I don't think it's necessarily the height of the shock so much as the amount of dampening required.

As far as wearing out the GR-2 will wear out faster than the AGX's on lowering springs.

I ended up putting AGX's with eibach's on all four corners and I love them! It's a comfortable ride on the lowest setting IMO.

I have agx and elibach springs, I love the ride, a little rough but you are lower a car almost two inches. I had a friend with the gr-2 and elibach spring, and he perfered my set up.

I ahve the GR-2's in the front and they ride great, and do an excellent job of dampening out the bumps. It dont really have anything to compare too, except my old front ones wich were orginall 135,000 mile ones. I guess if I wanted a softer ride, I would get a Bonneville.

I have the Eibach springs with the gr-2's and have about 10k on my set up and NO problems at all. I live in MI where the pot holes can swallow a small car. The ride is not bad but it is much stiffer than stock. If you have the cash just get coil overs. Bio can point you in the right direction if you so desire. It just depends on how you want your car to sit.

Yeah I know pretty much the direction that I am going in. I just wanted to know the difference between the two struts, same lowering springs and same car from a person that has seen both sides of the fence.

Sorry about that man. It rides great man.. I need a alignment, so its kinda weird taking corner fast, but its a lot smoother and changing the mounts out helped too.
