    Hey group,

Never done this one before, and actually have never had to have it replaced before.

Is it hard to do? Mechanic is quoting me (over the phone, hasn't seen the car yet) around $650, because once one line goes the rest are sure to follow?

How long do you think it'd take a first-timer to get it all done?

Its not that hard, just get some lines, a bender, and a DOUBLE flaring tool, and give it a shot. It would be a good idea to practice double flaring on some scrap first. (and dont forget to put your fittings on BEFORE you flare the ends.

I took my old line off and took it to the auto parts store. I had different fittings on both ends and a bubble flare! News to me :-D But my car used to be part of a rental fleet, so maybe that's why that happened?

Good luck & make sure you buy the coated kind - I did! No more rust for me I hope!

Parents acura... 01, near 200 K miles, rust on the body, non rusty brake lines. Coating + changing brake fluid helps quite a bit.
