Hey does anyone have a reason why a front swayybar cannot be welded back togethor instead of reaplacing it? If it cant be welded how much does a new one generally cost? I just had mine snap so just out of curiosity. Thanks!

Well have not heard of anyone welding there's back together. It's made out of cast steel if I remember corectly.
I have a spare. 50 bucks shipped and it is you'rs.
Just replace it instead of trying to weld it. They are hollow and I'm more then sure it will just break again. Could you weld it? Yes you could try. Will it be safe going forward? I wouldn't say it would. I am replacing one on a car for a friend because hers broke also it is common in these cars. I'm going with the GMPP front swaybar GM parts direct P/N 12498643...... It's still a hollow one but it's larger and the list of a stock replacement cost more......
Seems to be a common problem. As stated your best bet is to go with the GMPP one. Actually the entire GMPP handling kit is worth it. You get improved handling with the larger front and rear sway bars.
^^ Must be nice
Mine never broke but I got the GMPP Handling Upgrade...it is the shiz
Mine broke and I replaced with the upgraded GMPP piece with poly bushings.......Worth the price, imho(around 100) This piece fit in a little more tight than the stock piece but only took a few minutes to install. I had one half of the ear break off on the drivers side...........don't know how that happens?
