i recently had to replace a ball joint....those rivets are a PITA plan on spending a good 20 mins drilling each of the 3 out haha it sucked bro
What size bit were you using? I have an air chisel handy, probably try that first...
i would use an air chisel... would be easier then drilling the rivets out
is there anyway to beef up the tie rods and ball joints to kind of upgrade the suspension?
I'm doing this job today. My Haynes says to use a 1/8" drill for a pilot hole, then a 1/2" drill to get the rivets out. All things considered, I'd use an air chisel (if I had one). I thought about a grinder, but I'd probably gouge the lca.
I went to the hardware store and bought metal bits, and a 18mm open end wrench for the nut, which I didn't have.
