    I'm replacing all my tie rods and ball joints on both mine and my girlfriends car also gotta change her wheel bearings but what will I need to get the stock ball joints off?? they are riveted in arnt they??

    If they are riveted you can either drill or air chisel em out.most are riveted from the factory, aftermarkets are bolt on I believe.

    Correct. If they are stock then they will be rivited on. You'll need a sharp drill bit and a corded drill for sure.

    i recently had to replace a ball joint....those rivets are a PITA plan on spending a good 20 mins drilling each of the 3 out haha it sucked bro

    What size bit were you using? I have an air chisel handy, probably try that first...

    i would use an air chisel... would be easier then drilling the rivets out

    is there anyway to beef up the tie rods and ball joints to kind of upgrade the suspension?

    I'm doing this job today. My Haynes says to use a 1/8" drill for a pilot hole, then a 1/2" drill to get the rivets out. All things considered, I'd use an air chisel (if I had one). I thought about a grinder, but I'd probably gouge the lca.

    I went to the hardware store and bought metal bits, and a 18mm open end wrench for the nut, which I didn't have.
