I had the intermediate steering shaft replaced on my 2005 Grand Prix today, it's a new design being the old style had a lot of problems. The dealer greased it last year and it still got worse, so they just replaced it. I have a dealer extended warranty from when I bought the car so it was free. But the price to have it replaced is 138.46. 102.19 for the part and 36.27 for the labor. It has nylon injection bushing instead of the old design. It doesn't make sense greasing the bad shaft all of the time, being it will just get worse after time. Just replace it with the new and improved style and forget about it, trust me its a good deal. It even has cv style joints and looks to be easy to install. Hope this helps.
