I have a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue w/ a 3800 Series II. I was looking at lowering it and saw that the grand prix springs are the same, can anyone confirm this for me, and If they are the same I am looking for a set preferably used. Here is a link to a set of springs I was looking at that said they are the same between Intrigue and GP.

Pontiac Grand Prix Sport Lowering Springs - Eta May 31 - Intrax

    Thanks for any help.

That is one hell of a drop. A 2" to 2.5" drop all the way around, I hope you dont have big tires, or you're gonna be suckin some serious fender well. I like my SSC Gen 2's, they only drop a max of 1.5" inches. Or the Vogtland's which are basically the same the SSC's, just made in Germany instead of Canada

You have a link to the SSC's. I found the Vogtland's ($218 shipped). 1.5" lower should be good enough, it's the wifes car.

A local member had Intrax springs. It was definitely slammed and yes, he complained a lot about how terrible the ride was.

what struts would you recommend with the vogtland's or the ssc springs? i asked some time ago but couldn't remember if it was GR2's or AGX that were a better ride quality for lowered cars.

COIL SPRING LOWERING KIT - CarParts Quality Discount Parts and Accessories

seems like the cheapest way to go. Prolly rides like **** with them tho. I think I will prolly go with a set of SSC's. If times were better I would prolly throw some bags on it, but the wife wont let me now

With the vogtlands you can probably get away with the GR2's. The vogtlands seem to lower less than 1". But the AGX's are recommended for anything more than a 1" drop and in general a better strut for a lowered car.

Me personally I would not try that method. On the cheap, I say yeah, but for performance and handling sake, I say NO! Besides.....do you really want to risk something like that on your wife's car?

I have had experience with the GR2's and now the AGX's. I can tell you from a ride standpoint both ride harsher than stock. With the AGX's you can atleast dial out some of that harshness as compared to NO flexibility with the GR2's. Granted the GR2's are way cheaper, but lose the flexibility to select how your car feels on the road.

From all I've read... GR2s are only for stock ride height...
They don't like any drop. Now I have, AGXs, and I LOVE THEM!
I've got the Original SSCs 1.7" drop with my KYB AGXs
I couldn't be happier with my ride! As for harshness...
I drive a Comp-G, I think my ride is LESS Harsh now than when I bought my car.

where do you find ssc springs? the agx struts i can find, and will prob go with (depending on budget when the time comes to buy, i'm sure you can all relate). what about eibach springs? are they any good? i would like to know if anyone has heard or had experience with eibachs, but from what i've read the ssc or vogtlands are the way to go.

I am quite happy with my SSC springs. The GR2's rode pretty well the first 20-30k I drove them, but now they're pretty tired and ready to be upgraded.
