Hi all noob here learning as I go. I've got a mysterious creaking noise (like someone drawing a bow, or that stereotypical "haunted mansion" door creak) coming from what sounds like somewhere in the front driver's side. It only happens turning left going about <10mph and seems to be somewhat amplified if I'm turning left and going over a bump/dip at the same time but not if I'm just going over a bump without turning. The creak doesn't seem to persist through the turn and stops after a certain point even if I'm still turning but will make a little noise as I straighten back out; it got bad enough at one point where it would also creak when braking, accelerating, going over bumps but funnily enough not when turning right.
I replaced the sway links and struts also topped PS fluid and while that improved a lot of different things the creak remains although it went back to only when turning left again. I can barely feel it in the steering wheel as a very soft rubbing sensation but steering isn't actually effected nor does the wheel shake or have an unusual amount of play. There was a lot of clunking in addition to the creaking before I replaced the struts/links but even afterwards there's still a bit of a clunk if I hit the right type of bump. Thinking so far to check the ball joints and control arms/bushings but was wondering if there's anything else I should check up on while I'm rooting around down there. Thanks for any suggestions or advice and for taking the time to read my thread. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you help me and have a badass day
