Well now I'm drifting more from what I orginally was looking at for struts.
Now I'm considering what's involved in putting Comp G suspension under my 2000 GTP. I'm looking for suggestions & If it's possible, not possible at all or a ****load of work. In my other thread this came up as someone saying that they'd heard of people doing thism, but no on in particular that has done it.
Like I said in my prior thread, I'm looking to get a setup that's a little stiffer & responsive over stock, but I really don't want to lower the car or spend a ton of cash.

While the Comp-G/GXP pieces will fit in the the pre-'04 cars, '04+ cars have a direct acting front sway bar. Pre-'04 cars do not, this is my understanding. The Comp-G/GXP's system is finely tuned and w/o the direct acting sway bar, probably won't work as well on pre-'04 GPs. 04+ struts seem to work on earlier cars if used with original or after market pre-'04 springs
Also the rear springs are longer on 04+'s, so it will probably raise the rear of pre-04 cars

So all in all you can do it, it just might be a waste. Notice I said might, because I have no proof that it wouldn't work very well.

I've only heard of people doing it while I was researching suspension options. IIRC the CompG (or any '04+) struts and springs will raise the car about 1", and you can still use the 04+ struts with your '97-'03 sway bar. A couple of people have had good results with lowering springs on CompG struts.

As I said, I'm just going off of what I remember when I was researching suspension options. I wish I could remember more.

yea i have the comp g struts and springs installed on my car. its 100% direct fitment w/o issues. u just gota remember what side goes where such as the right-rear or left rear and etc. your car will sit higher over stock. however the comp g settings are stiffer so it wont roll

Now if I wanted to throw lowering springs on this (with the stock Comp-G struts) a) which springs should I use? (97-03's) or 04-07's) b) am I a dumbass & I'll still blow up the stock Comp-G springs with aftermarket lowering springs on them?

fst, so it was a noticable difference from stock? Does it reall rasie the car 1I'm really thinking this route over going with the KYB GR2's.
Now off to contact Ed for pricing on this

i was debating on switching to lowering springs or try the 97-03 springs instead of the comp g springs but i was lazy and just rode with them ever since. since the struts/springs are stiffer i feel almost every bump lol. bought them used at ~25K miles and prolly added 15K on them.
my car looks like it'll go off-roading >_>

I have seen fst's car in person and it does sit higher than a stock GTP. But not much. I have KYB GR2s and couldn't tell a whole lot of difference. Hmm...maybe I can find some pics...

Okay, hope freeman doesn't mind me posting pics of his car. But here are some pics of his GTP sitting on Comp G struts and springs:

Some pictures of my stock GTP on KYB GR2s, stock front springs, and Intrigue rear springs:

    Hope this helps.

Myself and another Regal owner both have the GXP Bilstein suspension on our Regals. It is a night and day difference. While I bought my Regal with the setup already installed, going from a 99 GP with worn stock struts/springs to the Regal was a huuuuuuuuuge jump. Both cars also have GMPP sways and trailing arms.

The other Regal owner also measured gap and height and he said that it was .05 taller when installed and 2 weeks later it was as even as his stock setup.

If I were to have kept my 99, I would definatly look into a GXP suspension swap.

I dont care about ride height. The suspension is finely tuned to handle well and thats what it does. I dont care what it looks like. I want function over looks.
