In the past year I have purchased a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP and it has the heads up display, but you can't see it while your driving. You have to look basically through the steering wheel in order to see it. It's more of a "head down display" haha. I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix this issue. Thanks.

Likely the common broken spring or the plastic piece that broke.

There is a thread on how to fix it somewhere. And that plastic dash cover/cowl piece will likely crack when you take it off.

Thanks for the feedback. I followed the steps in the link step by step and I got the HUD to work now.

Any way to replace just that flimsy plastic window at the top of the HUD, the one meant to keep dirt off the mirrors? I pulled one out of an 05 GT (and rescued the cowl, too!), only to discover the lens is split in half! But it looks like it's attached at the top... what do you think? By the way, this HUD has an intact spring... what are the chances?

You could probably just order a new one online.

    Doubt it

Probably have to buy the entire hud unit.. Unless of course you find just the plastic screen on eBay or something

I asked AJR International (where I'm sending my 5-button DIC for mileage matching to my 3-button) if they had spares; unfortunately they don't! So it's another trawl through the boneyards...
