No you'll lose the DICs date feature after its all said and done anyways when you go aftermarket. It's easier to get the correct harness right off the bat then to find away around it.
Squirrels are my engine. I need a Ford Regal
    04 Comp G.

Since the time/date in the DIC comes from the OEM head unit, you'll lose that regardless.

Without the GMOS, you'll lose chimes and OnStar, the Monsoon amp if you have that, and you'll have to wire the speakers and power. Saving me the time of tearing out the interior to run speaker wires alone was worth the price of admission to me.

The chimes are nice as well. My turn signals won't cancel without a fair turn of the wheel, and it's nice to know if you've left your headlights on, even if they will go out by themselves eventually.
