Hooked the remote wire for the sub to the remote wire on the headunit and now all I have subwoofer working and none of the speakers. What did I do wrong now?
I have a 1500 watt amp hooked to the sub. Just found out for some reason the speakers will work with a door open, but not if all doors are closed lol
I don't know how to fix that though haha. Not sure what would make it only work if a door is opened.
The wires being tight will make it do that? I soldered all the wires together so I don't think it's a connection issue.
Sounds like the wires is being moved. Try taking the speaker out and laying it on the floorboard and then playing it. Did you wire everything correct?
Everything was working fine earlier. All I did today was cut the remote wire on the head unit and hook it to the remote wire for the subwoofer amp. It is tight fitting all those wires behind the head unit so they might get moved around when I put the head unit in. I'm not sure. I guess I'll have to try it tomorrow. Thanks.
The wiring behind the head unit shouldn't be a issue if you used heat shrink butt connectors the connection should be pretty strong. Pull the speaker out the door first and check that instead of making more work pulling the head unit out. You ran the +/- of the speaker wire to the amps right?
If I open the door the front speakers still do the chimes and that's when the rear speakers start playing. Yes the wires are run to the amp. The subwoofer is hooked up the same way I've done it in a few other vehicles and never had a problem.
Verify the the RCA cables are still hooked together in the back of the HU and amp.
The rear speakers are still hooked up to the favored Monsoon Amp right? Or did you replace those as well and run them to the amp?
There's has to be some type of loose or incorrect connection occurring for the front speakers to not play actually music.
Yes rear speakers are still hooked to the Monsoon amp. I would be thinking the problem is right in the area by the head unit, just because that's the only area I've been messing with.
Yea if the front speakers aren't playing at all it's something involving the amp or headunit. The only wires that should be going to the amp..is the obvious power/ground wire for your amp kit. The remote wire and then the -/+ wires from the front speakers and the 2 RCA cables that connect from the back of the HU to the amp.
Also a quick suggestion is to check the audio settings on the HU itself and make sure you didn't turn off the speakers somehow.
Alright makes sense. I'll have to check it all tomorrow. Thanks for all the help! Hopefully I can get it fixed tomorrow haha
No problem lol. If you were closer I would of just hooked everything up for u lol
Solution to the problem. The wire harness, the remote wire off from it. I thought when hooking up the remote wire for the sub amp that I could just take out the remote wire from the harness. Well I just touched the remote wire from the harness to the little connector I used when I just quickly hooked up the remote wire for the amp and all the speakers started working haha. Thanks for the help guys!
