Thread: No Interior courtesy lamps

I have a 1997 Grand Prix GT, 139,000 miles. HUD, keyless entry, electrochomatic mirror, overhead console with power port (no moonroof).Bone stock, no mods. The Interior lamps stopped working about 4 years ago right around the time blower motor resistor and blower were replaced. However, the 12v power port overhead works, along with the other one near the passenger knee area. Also, the headlights come on automatically and the interior dash lights dim when the sensor knows its 'dark' but, based on the owner manual it states that the DRLs should be on when the key is on and the car is shifted out of park. Well, they're not. I did a quick swap on a new headlight switch because I had access to one, but it did not solve the problem. Checked interior mini fuses and maxi fuses under the hood. What can I check next? Anyone have a decent wiring schematic? My HUD, and power everything else work EXCEPT interior lights and I'm sick of being in the dark! Please help..

@dsmuts: They do not work with the dimmer dial rolled all the way to the right into the 'click'

Did some searching on ALLdata and did troubleshooting on my BCM (Bong Test). It emits a DTC 2 on the BCM which is: 'a short to ground on circuit 1393.' Anyone have experience with this?? Common areas where the short can occur? BillBoost???
