im sure hes got key less entry at the minimum. they all seem to have come with it.

all i did was google the standard features for my car, it said key less entry was standard, so i bought fobs. and they work.

thats a bummer for sure...lets hope the vin and dealer say different, cause using the keys to get in really does suck.

its a 4x6 sticker with a grid full of 3 letter/number codes on it, each code shown is in your car.

Just called the dealer and it does not come with keyless entry option. They said I would have to take somewhere and put on a transmitter or something.

In fact I am in the same boat as you. I too have a 97 with missing fobs. I tried to identify the system no luck.
    http://www.grandprixforums.net/how-r...sed-79647.html

I found one on ebay that has two fobs, alarm, and remote start, I gave $25 plus $12 shipping. I should get it next week and will know more after the install. For remote start you have to have a way of bypassing the theft deterrent system. They say this is an added option, we will see. When I had one add to both of my 02's they cut the transponder off of the factory key, left it in the key switch cover, from then on I just made keys from "all metal" blanks and depended on the alarm for "theft deterrent". I have not took the time to google what kind of technology 97 uses for "theft deterrent". The keys they gave me on the 97 was the "all metal" blank, so I wonder if the system before me was remote start and worked the same way. I think it was remote start, because there is a wire around one of the plug wires. If any is interested when I get my kit and learn more I can update.
